The film uses stop motion animation instead of modern computer generated imagery, giving the film a more realistic feel. The directors use of dark drab colors and different camera angles to give the film a unique horror film look.
Additionally the musical score gives it that horror movie atmosphere and that combined with the directors creative use of angles, colors, and shapes make this a film that is appealing to audiences that don’t usually go to animated features.
Overall I would give Coraline 4 out of 5 stars. But with it’s PG rating it is definitely not for young children. Older kids, teens, young adults would find Coraline a different and entertaining film.
I think this review is rather well put together. The review gives me enough information to want to watch it, but it didn't give to much away. It contained a good amount of personnel opinion, but wasn't to overbearing. I like how you briefly mentioned stop motion, because you could have talked forever about it, but it would have taken away from the review.I feel, however, that the paragraph about the musical scores could have been left out. ReplyDeleteYou have a great amount of detailed background that led me into the movie without getting confused. You have pictures that relate to what you are saying which is beneficial especially for people who need to see the scene in order to follow what you are saying. The links work well as well so that I can get more information on who made the film and the actors in it. Your voice and tone stays consistent throughout which keeps me invested in everything you say. You were lacking a little with your opinion, and I would have liked to know more. There were multiple grammar errors, but they were not glaring mistakes. All in all it was a thorough and accurate review.

This review is a little on the boring side. It had great information and background yet had a dull tone. Other then that, it was very clear to read with great flow and no grammar mistakes. The last picture really gives a clear image on the detail and work they had to put in to shoot this film. The way you described the dedication that is put in this film was very informational.
